The Spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades show that Virginia is ranked fourth overall in the nation, which is a reflection of Virginia hospitals’ shared commitment to keeping patients safe and providing exceptional patient care and experience. VHHA is proud to support this collaborative work through its Center for Healthcare Excellence that has focused on patient safety and quality improvement work since its formation in 2015.

Novant / UVA Health Medical Center was awarded three top grades from the Leapfrog Group’s spring 2021 Hospital Safety Grade. Visiting hours expanded at Novant/UVA medical centers

Visiting hours expanded at Novant/UVA medical centers Novant Health UVA Health System, an integrated network of physician clinics, outpatient services, and medical centers in northern and central Virginia, is expanding visitation guidelines at its hospitals. Effective Thursday, April 8, visiting hours for approved visitors are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center, Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center, and Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center in Manassas. Visitation for coronavirus patients or those suspected of having the virus remains limited to those meeting specific criteria, such as end-of-life situations, those requiring guardianship, and those with other special circumstances. However, policy updates for specific departments are as follows:
