The Delhi Police recorded the statements of the victims of Chhatrasal Stadium brawl that led to the death of a wrestler in Delhi, officials said on Sunday. The police said the clash took place over vacating a flat in Model Town area.

Police have recorded the statement of the Chhatrasal Stadium brawl victims, which had ended in the death of a wrestler.
A senior police officer said that the victims recorded their statement where they said the incident took place over a dispute of vacating a flat in Model Town. The victims also alleged that Olympian Sushil Kumar was present when the incident took place, they said.
On the hunt
Mr. Kumar is absconding and efforts are being made to nab him. Raids are being conducted in Delhi-NCR and neighbouring States, the officer said.

New Delhi: The attack on junior wrestling champion Sagar Kumar and his friends, was “premeditated” by Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar, who wanted to “teach them a lesson” for “badmouthing him in public” and “disrespecting him”, a source in Delhi Police told ThePrint.
According to the police, investigations have revealed that Sushil was annoyed with Sagar, for calling him names like “badmash” in public and “maligning his image”
The 23-year-old wrestler was beaten to death with hockey sticks, baseball bats and batons, while two of his friends Sonu Mahal and Amit Kumar, were injured in the attack by a group of people at the Chhatrasal stadium premises in North-West Delhi, late Tuesday night.

Police have launched a manhunt for two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar who was involved in a brawl at a parking lot of a Delhi stadium, which saw Sagar Rana, a former junior national wrestling champion, being beaten to death late on Tuesday night.
Sushil Kumar, who was also present at the vicious fight outside the Chhatrasal stadium, is alleged to be involved in the beating up of the young wrestler.
