Delhi Police Launch Raids To Trace Wrestler Sushil Kumar In Chhatrasal Stadium Murder Case
After claiming that his wrestlers are not involved in Chhatrasal Stadium murder, Sushil Kumar reportedly went missing. Police have launched raids to locate him

Olympian Sushil Kumar is under the scanner of Delhi Police after he went missing on Thursday. He was one of the accused in the Chhatrasal Stadium scuffle incident where a 23-year-old, Sagar Kumar, a former junior national champion lost his life on late Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Kumar had claimed that his wrestlers had nothing to do with the incident and unknown people created a ruckus.

Delhi Police has initiated raids to track two-time Olympic champion Sushil Kumar in relation to the murder case of a 23-year-old ex-junior national champion Sagar Kumar.
Sagar, son of a Delhi Police constable, passed away in a clash between two groups on the premises of the Chhatrasal stadium situated in northwest Delhi on late Tuesday night.
Dr Guriqbal Singh Sandhu, Additional DCP of north-west Delhi, told the
Indian Express, âWe are probing the role of Sushil Kumar as allegations have been made against him. We sent our team to his house but he was found to be missing. We are looking for him. Several teams have been formed to trace the accused persons.â
Search for Sushil Kumar under way
Delhi police raided several locations in Delhi-NCR in search of Olympian Sushil Kumar and others, who were allegedly involved in the murder of a 23-year-old wrestler, said a senior police officer on Thursday.
The officer said that during the raid, Mr. Kumar was found missing. His role came under the scanner in the murder case after the statements of victims were recorded and CCTV footage were analysed.
On Wednesday, three wrestlers were brutally assaulted by a group of men inside Chhatrasal Stadium here. The injured wrestlers were hospitalised where Sagar succumbed to injuries. The other two persons are currently undergoing treatment.

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested one person and seized one double-barrel loaded guns in the Chhatrasal Stadium firing case involving Olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar, in which one was killed and another sustained injuries. In the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, information of firing inside the Chhatrasal Stadium was received at Model Town Police Station. Police staff immediately reached there and found five cars parked in the parking area of the stadium. On further enquiry, it was revealed that a quarrel had taken place allegedly between Sushil Kumar, Ajay, Prince, Sonu, Sagar, Amit and others in the parking area. The injured persons were shifted to BJRM Hospital for treatment, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North West District.

New Delhi: Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar’s role is under scanner after his name emerged in connection with a brawl that led to the death of a wrestler inside the Chhatrasal Stadium complex in north Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
Kumar, the county’s only athlete to have won two individual Olympic medals, was named in the FIR, they said.
According to police, a 23-year-old wrestler died and his two friends got injured after they were allegedly brutally assaulted by other wrestlers inside Chhatrasal Stadium in northern part of city.
