Action to help the big rigs driver. Pamela osborne is live at New Castle County police headquarters. This was an accident on the freeway. A lot ofc people who were on t road stepped up to help and only nbc 10 was there as it happened. Our overnight news photographer, pete cane was on 295, headed to another accident when he saw this. A tractortrailer flipped over on its side on 295 south, a total of three people were hurt, including the truck driver, a passenger and a man driving another vehicle. Witnesses tell us the driver of the big rig was attempting to merge on to the southbound lanes of 95 when he lost control. That truck traveled across three lanes of traffic before hitting a double guide rail and overturning on the 202 ramp. Other drivers who saw the crash jump in to help. They called 911 and tried to help the truck driver and the truck passenger get out safely. We talked to the driver of the other car involved in the accident before he was taken away to the hospital.
