If youre up in allentown and near reading you may be getting a little bit of ice mixing with that rain so be careful as youre heading out but thats the least of our problems. Storm tracker 6 3d in a wider view shows how large this system s this is going to be impacting us until tomorrow afternoon and of course as we have been telling you changing over to snow later tonight. Theres a lot to go over in the forecast but first with the temperatures, were looking at temperatures barely above freezing or if that in the northwest so you could still see a little ice on the roads and the secondary roads especially in Pottstown Coatesville where youre barely above freezing. Kennett square saint davids sitting at the freezing mark but in center city 35. 34 in browns mills, 33 in glassboro. Be careful as youre headed out early but these temperatures are going up today. You can see speeds on the boulevard so far not so bad this morning. But as we go outside to chalfont bucks county upper state road at bristol road theres still a lot of slush on these secondary routes especially as you go to make the turns or come to a quick stop youre going to go sliding so once again this morning allow some extra time as you head out the front door but speed restrictions we had last evening on the major highways have been lifted, were back to normal speeds. However, i would still recommend dropping those speeds as you head out on this wednesday morning. Tam. Thank you matt. Lets head out to action News Reporter annie mccormick. Shes live in northeast philadelphia with a look at what conditions are right now and more on how penndot is getting ready for tomorrows storm. Good morning annie. Reporter good morning today. You just heard matt talking about the boulevard. Taking a live look its really not that bad right now. You can see, though, that there are slick conditions but because its not the freezing temperatures that we had had i almost said warm, i have to be careful because its not warm yet but because its not the freezing temperatures weve had youre not going to have as many of those icy patches on the major roadways that were treated. Taking a look down at the sidewalks and then also at the grass, a lot of these untreated areas, this is what youre going to walk out to. These are slick. You have to be concerned about these. Take a look at this video from last night. This is what many of you went to sleep with last night that you saw. Started with snow, then it went to sleet, then rain from quakertown to lansdowne then on major roadways like 76 and 476, penndot wanted people to reduce their speed because it was hard to keep up with a lot of that falling sleet and ice and they were having a lot of the minor accidents on the highways because it just came so fast. Now, that continued overnight but it ended early this morning. So for those commuters that are leaving today, they are going have too. They arent going have too much of a problem. We caught up with people last night that are just over it. Theyre ready for ring. Ive had enough. It was fun while it lasted. Im ready to head down the shore for memorial day weekend. Reporter and back out here live taking a live look again at the boulevard you can see slick conditions but this is what you have left over in a lot of the parking lots. Even if youre running to a store this morning or maybe where you work you do have to be care f a lot of this leftover nasty dirty snow. But also this. Its icy. Its this icy mix that is over on the grass and also on the sidewalks so even if youre leaving your house and you havent treated the sidewalks or if your kids are walking to the bus stop, you definitely want to make sure that you put on the right shoes and you take your time. For now reporting live along the boulevard annie mccormick, channel6 action news. Yes, annie, find something with a little bit of tread. Thank you for that. The rain was coming down early this morning in pennsauken. The action cam at westfield avenue and browning road. You can see the sidewalks still covered in ice. Its not going to rain solidly all day. At 10 30 were showing not a whole lot of anything going on, just clouds, maybe a little drizzle. It will be rain at times mixing with drizzle but then we watch at midnight tonight and we start to see the rain change over to snow. Well be dealing with the snowfall. Thats 11 30 tomorrow morning when it all wraps up. Lets look at what you can expect breaking it down over the next two days. Today we have rain, about a quarter of an inch to threequarters of an inch so with that and the more mild temperatures and melting we may see some isolated areas with street flooding that youll need to be careful of but its late tonight that it changes over to snow. Thats the real concern and on thursday especially the first half of the days, we anticipate that heavy accumulating snow. All in all we expect about four to 8inches of snow.
