COVID-19: Taylor County adds 8 cases Tuesday
Five of new cases were confirmed by polymerase chain reaction tests, and three by antigen tests.
Active cases total 157 (58 PCR and 99 antigen), down from 168 on Monday.
Also, officials reported 16 inpatients hospitalized for COVID-19 at Abilene hospitals, three more than Monday. The average age of the patients is 61, and nine live outside Taylor County.
The percentage of COVID-19 inpatients in the Abilene trauma service area was 1.59% Monday, up from 1.53% Sunday and 1.13% Saturday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 website.

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, as well as nine recoveries
Active cases declined to 168 (62 confirmed by polymerase chain reaction tests and 106 by antigen tests), down from 177 on Sunday.
Thirteen COVID-19 inpatients were reported at Abilene hospitals, two more than Sunday. The average age of the patients is 61, and seven live outside Taylor County.
