The residents of Shankar Nagar in Gottigere ward and MLA Layout, Kalena Agrahara in Begur ward are the worst affected due to the delay in completion of the UGD works that began last year. The residents are urging the authorities concerned to take measures to complete the work soon. They demand that authorities ensure proper disposal of waste and take measures to prevent sewage being let into roadside drains.
This apart, garbage has accumulated near Ganesh Temple Park on HSR layout 25th Main Road, which has become a longstanding problem. Residents complained of the stench of uncollected waste for nearly 3 to 4 months, raising serious concerns about public health and sanitation, especially during the rainy season.
In November 2022, Poongothai Paramasivam, a regular commuter on the stretch, complained to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) major road department to fix the potholes at the stretch. However, the complaint was not taken up, and the road has now gotten into a bad state.
