Former foreign minister of Maldives Abdullah Shahid condemned derogatory remarks made against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Maldivian officials, calling for the government to reprimand them and maintain decorum in public discourse.
Maldives row: The actor, who was last seen in the satirical drama OMG 2, said in his post that he is surprised that Maldives' government officials are making racist and hateful comments against Indians.
The Maldives government has suspended three ministers for making derogatory remarks about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his visit to Lakshadweep.
Appealing to the countrymen to visit Lakshadweep, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday said, "No need to go to New Zealand or Switzerland" as the Union Territory has a huge tourism potential.
