Two charged in love triangle shooting

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP A man and woman were charged in the shooting death of a Newport man that occurred at the Pleasantville Mobile Home Community early Saturday morning. Officials said in court the shooting was the result of a love triangle. Austin Corey-Jordan Green, 21, was charged with one count of homicide, open murder, and one count of a felony firearm. He is being held in the Monroe County Jail without bond.  Riley Morgan Young, 20, is being charged with one count of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of domestic violence. She is being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.

Couple arraigned for murder in fatal Monroe County shooting Updated May 12, 2021; MONROE COUNTY, MI – A couple arrested last weekend in connection with a fatal shooting have been charged with murder. Austin Cory-Jordan Green and Riley Morgan Young were arraigned Monday, May 10, on felony charges associated with the death of Michael Allen Tripp, who was fatally shot Saturday, May 8, in Frenchtown Township, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Green, 21, of Monroe, is charged with one count each of open murder and felony firearms. Young, 20, of Monroe, is charged with one count each of felonious assault and domestic violence. The charges stem from a shooting that occurred at about 3:15 a.m. near the entrance of Pleasantville Mobile Home Community at the intersection of Pleasantville and George drives.

Newport, MI man dead from shot in mobile home community

Updated: 4:28 PM EDT May 11, 2021 MONROE, Mich. According to the Monroe County Sheriff department, while deputies were on patrol on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at approximately 3:15 am, they heard a gunshot. Deputies searched the area and found a male victim lying near the entrance of Pleasantville Mobile Home Community at the intersection of Pleasantville Dr and George Dr.  While securing the scene and calling for assistance, deputies located a male and female couple nearby who were later determined to have been involved in the incident and were taken into custody. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspects knew each other. There was an altercation between the victim and the suspects that led to the shooting.

Man shot dead; two in custody

Man shot dead; two in custody A 26-year-old Newport man died of gunshot wounds and two people are in custody following what officials described as a domestic violence situation early this morning. The victim has been identified as Michael Allen Tripp. He died at an area hospital after Monroe County sheriff’s deputies found him lying in a street at the Pleasantville Mobile Home Community on Nadeau Road in Frenchtown Township. According a press release, Deputies Josh Motylinski and Nethanial Oliger were on patrol around 3:15 a.m. in the area of Nadeau Rd. and I-75 when they heard a gunshot. The two searched the vicinity and found the victim lying in the intersection of Pleasantville Dr. and George Dr. at the entrance of the mobile home community.
