Spur had previously released a report called the public harvest report that showed even though we had seen tremendous demand for urban agriculture, Community Gardening and urban farms grow across the city in recent years, there has been a notable lack of coordination among different agencies that govern urban agriculture. The legislate ition helped create the Program Designed to serve as a one stop shop for urban agriculture to assist in the formation of new garden projects, to provide resources and tools, and partnerships with various community organizations. The legislation last year required that a Strategic Planning process take place and that is something that happened in the second half of 2012.
