After 54 years the confederate battle flag was brought down from the site for the very last time. It was a swift and dramatic turn in history. Born of the racist murders of nine members of a black church in charleston less than a month ago by a man who embraced that flag. Tonight we have two reports. Ron allen starts us off from columbia. Diagnosing hundreds of patients with cancer when they didnt have it. Giving many chemotherapy, making them six. Sentenced to 45 years behind bars. Ron claiborne leads us off. Paving is also being done on the median and sides of the road. As one person overseeing the work put it, we dont want cars falling off the road. Most of the work will be completed this weekend but there will be a few more closures but not like this one. After this threeday closure there will still be a few months of construction before we really get done on the main line so there will be nighttime closures. Theres nighttime work that has to be done because we cannot complete the roadway in this three days. The striping is expected to start sometime tomorrow. We have major delays out of marin county. You can see in our live shot of the Golden Gate Bridge here, those delays begin well before the waldo tunnel. Very slow upwards of 30, 35 minutes to work your way down to the toll plaza there. So
