Reporter in court, the doctor saying i misused my talents, and permitted this sin to come into me because of power and greed. I could hear him talking to my mother, and promising to save her. Reporter in all, he pleaded to intentionally misdiagnosing more than 500 patients. He earned more than 17 million as a result. He pounced on every opportunity to use a patients body as a profit center. Extremely emotional. Reporter in 2013, he told her she had cancer. He said you have fullblown cancer. Reporter she later learned from another doctor, she was pert perfectly healthy. I did one chemo treatment. The others so many that theyre practically dead already. Not to mention the ones that are. And the question wasnt there anyone else in the office to know the patients were healthy . Eventually a staff member had suspicions and took that to Law Enforcement officials. And the diagnosis was not confirmed, some of them and they were the lucky ones. We move on to another stunning admission. This one from the fbi, hard to believe after the horrific scene at the bible study in charleston. They say dylann roof went to a gun store, that called the fbi for a background check. And the law says they only have to wait three Business Days for a response from the fbi. That response never game. Pierre thomas at the fbi tonight. Reporter tonight, painful details of fbi failure that allowed dylann roof to buy that gun. Saturday, april 11th, dylann roof walks into this gun store in west columbia, South Carolina, to buy a. 45 caliber glock handgun. Its the weekend, so the fbi doesnt begin the required criminal background check. Roof is sent away. That monday, in west virginia, an fbi examiner begins to run the check. She sees roof was arrested in march on drug charges, but she is not able to reach the Police Department that made the arrest. So, she never discovers that roof allegedly admitted to possessing illegal drugs. That fact would have blocked him from buying the gun. By law, the gun store is only required to wait three days for a response from the fbi. On thursday, with still no word, they sell the gun to dylann roof who walks away with his handgun. And two months later, june 17th, he allegedly uses it to kill nine africanamerican worshipers in that charleston church. And pierre is with us now. You were in the room with that fbi director today. Inside the fbi theyre sick about what happened. He said he wishes he could turn back the hands of time but he cant. Thank you. And news of this major fail came just hours after the historic moment in South Carolina. The Confederate Flag coming down.
