The people of Karachi won t be able to take their vehicles to the food street on Burns Roads starting January 10, according to the district administration of South Karachi.
A notification issued on Tuesday [January 5] said that the vehicles won t be allowed on the street as a part of the government s initiative to pedestrianise it.
The Shahrae Liaquat intersection from Fresco Chowk to Court Road will be blocked from 7pm onwards. Traffic from Arambagh to Fresco Chowk will be diverted to the MA Jinnah Road on the left and the Peoples Square on the right.
Murtaza Wahab asks Karachiites to help govt drive for developing city

Sindh government spokesman Barrister Murtaza Wahab has appealed to the people of Karachi to join the provincial administrationâs campaign to develop the city through improving its civic infrastructure.
Wahab, who is also the chief ministerâs adviser on law and environment, made the appeal on Saturday while speaking at the inauguration of Cliftonâs neighbourhood park after its renovation.
He said that understanding the problems of Karachi, the Sindh government has been trying to carry out development works, so the people of the city should join hands with the administration to strengthen the drive for developing the provincial capital.
