The Karnataka High Court has held that promotion to a government employee cannot be denied on the ground that a criminal case was pending against him wherein the chargesheet is not filed, or in cases.
Out of the nine ministers in Karnataka, whose affidavits have been analysed, all have pending criminal cases against them. This includes the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah.
