protect raise up and majorities in both the house and senate. republicans are scheming on how to take at least one of those chambers. taking advantage of these trends that tens of favor the opposition party in the midterms. but brand new polling, from nbc, finds democrats tied with republicans and congressional preference. driven in large part by voter disapproval over the reversal of roe versus wade. president biden s approval rating is at its highest mark in the year. and donald trump s approval rating is at its lowest mark in more than a year. still a red flag for democrats on polling showing that americans favor the party on abortion and health care, by giving republicans all-time high marks on the economy, crime, and immigration. the latter issue having been ghoulish really exploited, this week, by the gop governor of texas, florida, and arizona. they re forced relocation of hispanic migrants from red states to liberal cities, horrifying critics on the left while right
this is perhaps the most anticipated debate of the election season. it s also the only chance for pennsylvanians to see the candidates side by side. they re debating just this one time. the senate is 50-50 and pennsylvania is crucial in the fight to either keep or gain control. cnn s jeff zeleny is in harrisburg where the debate is happening. jeff, what should people expect to see tonight? reporter: well, victor, i think people can expect to see fireworks as we ve seen in debates across the country. more interestingly this has a unique element to it and that is because of john fetterman. of course he s the lieutenant governor of pennsylvania but he s been recovering from a stroke for the last several months. so this debate tonight is going to be slightly different. it s going to have a closed captioning system. john fetterman is still having auditor processing issues. he can t always hear and see things in realtime so he ll be using closed captions as many americans do when

it s also a strategic appeal. just for perspective here, we remember doj seized 11,000 documents out of mar-a-lago. they don t like the special master ruling as to any of it. they lost on all 11,000 documents. what they re doing is saying okay, let s carve out the most important to us doj 100 of those documents. they ve given up on there being a special master for the other 10,900 other documents but with respect to those classified documents, those should not go to the special master, we should be able to use them in the criminal investigation and national security investigation, by doing that they limited the upside and won t get the special master kicked out all together but limited their downside because if you take an appeal and lose on the whole thing in the 11th circuit, that s really bad for doj and sets a worse precedent for doj so i think they re trying to be tactical and strategic in what they re choosing to go after here. this whole process is getting dragged ou
