December is always a time for an array of musical programs. But this year, three special concerts are on the docket, starting on Tuesday, Dec. 6, with the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra’s “Holidays at Home” performance. Then comes a concert on Saturday, Dec. 10, by globetrotting pianist Brayden Drevlow, followed by the Bemidji Chorale’s 43rd holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 11.
For the past 85 years, the Bemidji Choir at Bemidji State University has displayed its vocal prowess to tens of thousands of audience members fortunate enough to hear their rich harmonies at concerts and tours around the world.
The holiday music starts Saturday night when the Bemidji Choir, made up of Bemidji State University students, teams up with First Lutheran Church organist Sarah Carlson for a winter concert at the church. Additional concerts are on the schedule for Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and next Sunday as various ensembles get back on stage after being sidelined or limited by the pandemic in 2020.
