By Mark Starling Protesters Rally For Transgender Rights (Asheville, NC) Two proposed bills are being protested against by transgender youth supporters in Asheville. WLOS-TV says hundreds of people marched for a rally in downtown yesterday against the Save Women s Sports Act and the Youth Health Protection Act. A board member with the group Youth OUTright W-N-C said the proposals could erase years of working for equality in the transgender community. It s likely the legislation won t make it to a vote by state lawmakers this session. Funeral Services Announced For Fallen Deputies (Watauga County, NC) Funeral services for two fallen western North Carolina deputies are planned this week.
