The CoEP will thus become the only educational institute to execute an SRA project, according to the institute. Recently, the PMC standing committee approved a proposal to hand over its plot No. 66 with an area of 2,612.29 sq m to the CoEP for development under the SRA scheme.

As is its wont, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) conducted a structural audit of all hoardings in all its 15 wards a few months later. However, this may have been a futile exercise given that it skipped its own sky signs. Not known to learn its lessons well, the civic body is again courting a disaster waiting to happen – this time on the Pune-Mumbai National Highway, near Wakdewadi and Patil Estate.
