(Kristin Borden/Patch) NEW LENOX, IL Republicans running on the Citizens for New Lenox Township slate had a strong election Tuesday, as all the slate s candidates are the projected winners for their races. The projected winners include: Dave Medema as township clerk; Ronald Sly as highway commissioner; Philip Juarez as township collector; and Martin Boban, Barbara Kaupas, Kathy Hilton and Patricia Deiters as township trustees. Subscribe Subscribe Tuesday s election results are unofficial until certified by the county on April 27. Provisional Ballots cast on Election Day and all late Vote By Mail Ballots postmarked by Election Day will be counted at Provisional Count on April 20.

Election Results: Lemont Township Trustees, Highway Commissioner

Mario Mollo - 1,664 For the unopposed races, Michael Shackel is running for township supervisor and Barbara Buschman is running as township clerk. Labno is the current township highway commissioner, and he works as the project manager and head estimator for Hoppy s Landscaping. Durham has previously served as a Lemont Fire District trustee, and is a facility operations and maintenance manager. Blatzer is a current trustee and was appointed to the township board in June 2020. She previously served as a Village Trustee for Lemont for 20 years Blatzer, Molitor, Virgilio and Nathan are running as the Township First slate, while Mollo is running as an independent. Buschman, Shackel and Labno are also part of the Township First slate.

(Kristin Borden/Patch) NEW LENOX, IL Incumbent New Lenox Park District commissioners Bill Thomson and Ted Schulz are the projected winners of the April 6 election. According to Tuesday s unofficial results, Mark Ott Jr. received 1,842 votes, Thomson received 1,845 votes and Ted Schulz received 2,141 votes. Thomson, Schulz and Ott Jr. ran for two open positions as commissioners for the park district. Ott Jr. and Thomson are separated by just 3 votes, and the county has yet to count provisional ballots cast on Election Day and all late vote by mail ballots postmarked by Election Day.

The referendum question asked Lemont voters for a 29-cent increase for the operating tax rate of District 113A. With the projected success of the referendum, the district said it will reopen Central School to provide more space for learning, reduce class sizes across all grade levels, and add a full-day kindergarten program. (Kristin Borden/Patch) FRANKFORT, IL Keith Ogle is the projected winner of the race for Frankfort Village President, according to Tuesday s unofficial results. Ogle faced fellow village trustee John Clavio in the election. Last year, current mayor Jim Holland announced he would not seek re-election. Holland has served as mayor for 16 years. This opened up the field to mayoral candidates John Clavio and Keith Ogle. Both Clavio and Ogle announced their intentions to run last fall, shortly after Holland s announcement.
