That a suspect described only as an asian man in his 20s was wounded and taken to the hospital. Police say he was armed with what turned out to be a fake gun that he was waving in the air. At last word, he is expected to survive. Hayward police opened fire on a suspect on busy mission boulevard near valley vista at about 9 00 tuesday morning. A witness told ktvu he was armed with a gun. For several hours, Hayward Police shutdown mission boulevard between tennyson and industrial and investigators diagrammed the scene and look for evidence.
