GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) â A sure sign that summer is around the corner: the Brown County Trail System is opening up this Saturday.
Itâs something theyâre excited to do.
âThe parks department will be opening up the mountain bike trails at the reforestation camp the horse riding trails at Neshota Park, as well as the Fox River horse trails,â said Parks Director Matt Kriese.
He says the trails got a lot of use last year during the COVID-19 Pandemic as people looked outdoors for entertainment.
âThe overall recreational use trends had been increasing even prior to 2020 with COVID,â Kriese said. âWe expect that increased trend to continue through 2021.â

Automated Pay Stations Installed at Brown County Parks By Casey Nelson

SUAMICO, WI (WTAQ) – There’s a new way to pay to utilize the Brown County parks system.
The county has installed 12 automatic pay stations across the park system, allowing for instant purchase of daily or seasonal passes.
“When we found these automated pay stations, we realized that this is an opportunity for us to meet the customer needs and the customer concerns and questions that’ve been brought up over time,” said Parks Director Matt Kriese. “Not a lot of people carry cash anymore…While the machines do continue to take cash and credit cards, it’s great for our customers and also for our staff. It creates a lot of efficiencies behind the scenes in any eliminates a lot of those challenges.”
