"A group of 14 Indian evacuees departs from Jeddah onboard a flight for Mumbai," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a tweet.
"22nd batch of evacuees leaves Port Sudan. 135 passengers are flying to Jeddah onboard IAF C-130J aircraft," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted on Thursday.
The dangers the mission entailed were underscored a few hours earlier on April 28 when Sudanese rebels fired at a Turkish Air Force C-130 as it neared the same airsstrip to evacuate Turkish citizens.
"An IAF C-130J takes off from Port Sudan with 135 passengers for Jeddah. This marks the 12th batch of stranded Indians evacuated under #OperationKaveri," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.
