Forest City High School graduate Laura Schleusner of Garner has been working to bring two new businesses to the former Hardee’s building in downtown Forest City.
The Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship hosted its college-by-college pitch-off competition Tuesday for the seventh year, and over 110 students pitched during the five-day competition. Students presented a 90-second pitch of a new business idea or concept, and winners were offered a portion of the $18,000 cash prize. The finalists that competed Tuesday completed two rounds.
The Pappajohn Center received the Model University Accelerator/Incubator Award from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) for its CYstarters program.
