We are tracking the Winter Weather conditions on the roads and in your neighborhood. First, lets start with meteorologist, krystal klei with nbc 10 first alert neighborhood weather. Still tracking the wintry mix over some parts of our viewing area. Now, early this morning, it was all the way through the suburbs we saw that rain snow line. That has since pushed up to the north. We are starting to see a break in some of the precipitation. Thats good news for the Northern Edge counties where you
She was able to tweet some pictures out saying they had those icy conditions because of freezing rain reports. It is hard to tell. There was ice on power lines, which, during a heavy icing event can become a big issue as well as roadways. You can see that pretty easily here. Black ice conditions very dangerous for the Early Morning commuters. Good news is, things are starting to turn over to rain. That rain should help to melting that ice. None theles nonetheless, we will leave it under an icy alert because of some ice potential. Some showers may linger. The bull believe will start moving out over the next several hours. It will start moving out west and that will move to the east. We still have a good amount of rain. Take a look for the Lehigh Valley area as well as berks county. Those zones, we still have some pink, which indicates you may see some icing, but it is starting to move out. Then, if we track farther south, it is rain for philadelphia. This forecast is very easy on us for the first day of 2017. Were starting out with temperatures all above freezing. 36 degrees in mount pocono and 43 in philadelphia. Some of the clouds built in overnight kept in a little bit of the warmth from yesterday. So, temperatures didnt slip quite as much as they were supposed to. Thats good news. Things were more comfortable overnight. Still a bit of chill in the air. Atlantic city at 43, dover at 42 and lancaster right now at 41 degrees. So numbers are looking pretty good across the region. Then two of the protesters chained themselves to the ladder to keep cops and others from following them up. It takes a lot of cajones to do that, definitely.
