Moving the resolution, Ummer said the Speaker represented the honour of the house, but the serious allegations raised against him have dented the Assembly s reputation. He said the Speaker was facing serious allegations such as dollar smuggling and proximity to those accused in the sensational gold smuggling case.

I don t want to say anything because of my position, Ayyappan told reporters here after the interrogation. Customs had issued a third notice to Ayyappan to appear before it on Thursday after he failed to appear before it the day before. Ayyappan had informed the Department through the mail that he could not appear due to the busy schedule of the Kerala Assembly session beginning on Friday.
