Kochi (Kerala) [India], March 12 (ANI): Kerala Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan, who has been summoned by Customs in the Dollar smuggling case, will not appear before Customs officials on Friday.
Customs department has summoned Kerala Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan to appear before it on March 12 in connection with the dollar smuggling case.
Suresh spoke with clarity about the smuggling of foreign currency at the instance of the Chief Minister and the Speaker with the help of the Consulate. She has also clearly stated about the improper and illegal activities of three ministers of the state cabinet and the Speaker, says the affidavit.
Left calls for statewide protest
The Left has called for a statewide protest on Saturday against the statement of the Customs.
The case came to light during the investigation of the Kerala gold smuggling case, which is currently being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), ED and the Customs.
"It is submitted that in the 108 statement and 164 statement the first respondent had made shocking revelations about the Hon ble chief minister, Hon ble speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly and some Hon ble ministers of the state cabinet", the affidavit filed by Customs (Preventive) Commissioner Sumit Kumar claimed.
