A South African court started hearing evidence on the medical history of Orderick Lucas, the toddler who was discovered dead in a storm drain more than a year ago with all of his teeth ripped out using pliers. Kids who were looking for a lost ball stumbled upon the ghastly sight of the toddler s decomposing and maggot-filled body.
Investigators said that the 22-month-old toddler s body was so severely decomposed that it was hard to determine the cause of death. The Sun reported that local authorities investigating the case said that Lucas teeth appear to have been ripped out using pliers days before his death.

Cape Town â A State witness in the Orderick Lucas murder trial, Rugaya Gerhardus, testified yesterday that she had seen murder-accused Melvin Volkwyn âdragging a suitcaseâ the day after the toddler had gone missing.
Gerhardus was one of two State witnesses who took the stand yesterday at the Western Cape High Court before the State concluded its case.
According to Gerhardus, she had witnessed Volkwyn dragging a âblack suitcaseâ just before 5am on March 26, 2019, while she waited for her work transport.
It was Gerhardusâ version that she saw Volkwyn and asked him where he was on his way to âso earlyâ, but Volkwyn had not answered her.

Anthea Swartland testified that despite her drug use, Davedine Lucas would not do anything to hurt her children.
She and her family live on the same property as Lucas and her partner.
She told the court Davedine took Orderick with her wherever she went.
A neighbour of Davedine Lucas, the mother of murdered Orderick Lucas, does not believe she would do anything to hurt any of her children, the Western Cape High Court heard on Thursday.
