The Porcupine Health Unit announced 26 new COVID-19 cases among residents in its catchment area early Sunday evening, increasing the day’s total new cases to 77.
That raises the Victoria Day long-weekend total to 117, with the number of cases since the pandemic began in mid-March 2020 now sitting at 1,139.

Twelve of the latest cases are in the Timmins area, 11 in the James and Hudson Bay region, two are in the Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls, Smooth Rock Falls region and one in the Hearst, Hornepayne area.
