50 new COVID cases in Timmins area reported Friday

The Porcupine Health Unit surpassed an ignoble milestone of 1,000 COVID-19 cases on Friday. It did so with 50 new cases, raising the local tally to 1,022 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. We apologize, but this video has failed to load. Try refreshing your browser. The health unit reported there were 287 cases listed as active, including 50 latest. Thirty-one cases involved Timmins residents, 12 were in the James and Hudson Bay region, five cases were in the area of Matheson-Iroquois Falls-Cochrane-Smooth Rock Falls, one case is in the area of Hearst-to-Hornepayne and the other was in the area of Kapuskasing, Opasatika, Val Rita-Harty, Moonbeam, FauquierStrickland.
