Omniva Group's turnover and profit for the first three months of 2022 fell short of expectations, with the result affected by the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in late February as well as rising energy and fuel prices, the Estonian-based international logistics company said on Monday.
The Estonian state-owned Omniva continues to support Ukraine, including by allowing private individuals to mail humanitarian aid packages to Ukraine for free. Its "Glory to Ukraine!" postage stamp, which was released on March 24, has also proven very popular.
This Thursday, Omniva, Estonia's universal postal service provider, in collaboration with the Estonian Ornithological Society (EOÜ) is releasing a commemorative 2022 Bird of the Year stamp featuring the Eurasian woodcock.
The delivery of packages from Estonia to Russia is currently disrupted due to the lack of air services, Estonian universal mail postal service provider Eesti Post (Omniva) announced on Monday. Omniva suspended the servicing of Western Union payments between Estonia, Russia and Belarus last week.
