Police: 2 Hartford teens killed in weekend crash

HARTFORD Detectives continue to investigate a deadly crash over the weekend that left two teens dead and critically injured a third person, according to police officials.
Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, patrol officers responded to the area of Tower Avenue near Waverly Street for a reported serious accident, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert.
Arriving units found the a black 2005 Acura TL ran off the north side of the road and hit a tree, Boisvert said.
The driver, 17-year-old Omar Lawrence, of East Raymond Street, and the front-seat passenger, 19-year-old Shamar Williams, of East Harold Street, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the 17-year-old driver, later identified as Omar Lawrence, of Hartford, and the 19-year-old front seat passenger, later identified as Shamar Williams, of Hartford, were found dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old man who was in the back seat had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital, authorities said. He is listed in critical condition with potentially life-threatening injuries, they added.
Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed control of the investigation.
