Police: Woman killed in Hartford hit-and-run accident

HARTFORD A city woman died after being hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash on Albany Avenue late Friday night, according to police.
Police identified the victim as Kedine Campbell, of Vine Street. She turned 32 the day before the accident.
It was shortly before midnight Friday when patrol officers were dispatched for a reported pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the 1000 block of Albany Avenue, police said.
Officers found the 32-year-old unresponsive in the roadway. Police said the vehicle that hit the woman fled before officers arrived.
According to police, the 17-year-old driver, later identified as Omar Lawrence, of Hartford, and the 19-year-old front seat passenger, later identified as Shamar Williams, of Hartford, were found dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old man who was in the back seat had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital, authorities said. He is listed in critical condition with potentially life-threatening injuries, they added.
Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed control of the investigation.
