Detective mary lou armer was a 20 year veteran of the department. She had an unusual start. She started as a civilian field evidence technician. He came a sworn police officer, and was recently a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault investigator. This morning, she is being honored and remembered as a bright light, and a dedicated public servant. From people within heard police department, and far beyond. The situation as a mass casualty incident. We do not have any numbers as to how many people could be injured or killed. Clearly this is a serious situation. The transit board has tweeted there is massive damage and people are hurt. The highway is blocked as you can see on this small traffic camera. Traffic is at a standstill on 5 due to the heavy traffic jam from the root derailment. People have been posting photos on social media.
