COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field programs will travel about three hours away this week, just northeast of Cleveland to Geneva, Ohio, to compete in the 2021 Big Ten Conference indoor track and field championships. The Thursday-through-Saturday championships will be held for the eighth time at the SPIRE Institute.
The Ohio State women are the two-time defending Big Ten champions, winning by five points over runner-up Minnesota in 2020 at SPIRE and by 29 points over runner-up Indiana in 2019 at Ann Arbor, Mich.
The Ohio State men are coming off a fifth-place finish at the 2020 indoor championships and are seeking a second Big Ten indoor crown in four years, having won the title in 2018 at SPIRE.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – As Ohio State’s 2021 spring season approaches, three Buckeyes today were named as Preseason Players to Watch, the Big Ten Conference office announced.
Sophomores
Leanne Bough, along with junior
Aaliyah Hernandez, were among 21 players conference-wide to earn the distinction. Ohio State opens the season with a game on Sunday in Virginia Beach, Va. against Rutgers.
Allessie, from Mount Joy, Pa., was named to the 2019 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I third team All-America list. A first team All-Big Ten and all-region performer, she appeared in all 18 games for the Buckeyes as a freshman and was the team’s leading scorer with 37 points on 16 goals and five assists. She is a psychology major.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The No. 22 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team (6-3, 5-2 Big Ten) won its third meet in a row with a season-best 196.400 on Sunday in a tri-meet with Maryland and Penn State. The Terrapins came in second with a score of 196.275 and the Nittany Lions scored a 195.925 to finish third.
Ella Hodges earned the title of beam queen after her stunning routine received a score of 9.950. It was a career mark for the sophomore and the highest score by a Buckeye on any apparatus this season. She is only the third Big Ten gymnast to score a 9.950 on beam this year.
GAINEVILLE, Fla. – Ohio State sophomore Aneka Seumanutafa fired a round of 2-under 68 on Monday to vault to the top of the individual leaderboard at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville.
Seumanutafa is in a three-way tie at the top with Campbell’s Anna Nordfors and Maryland’s Virunpat Olankitkunchai. That trio is three of just six players in the 75-player field under par through 36 holes.
The Emmitsburg, Md., native opened the day 2-over through her first seven holes. But she then birdied four of the next five to climb to 2-under and into a tie for first. One of those birdies came at the par-4 13
