hello everyone, everyone. thank you so much for joining me this saturday. i m fredericka witfield. we continue to follow major new developments involving former president trump. trump now saying he expects to be arrested on tuesday and is calling for protests. he made the announcement today in a social media post lashing out at the manhattan district attorney s office, which has invited him to testify before a grand jury. the arrest would be part of their investigation into alleged hush money payments to stormy daniels during the 2016 election. in the post, trump called for protests over his pending arrest to, quote, take a nation back. this development comes as sources tell cnn that law enforcement agencies in new york are also now preparing for the possible indictment of trump. cnn s polo sandoval is outside the manhattan criminal courthouse for us. to katelyn first. what do we know about the possible arrest the former president has been posting on social media about? he
there could be more classified documents after the national archives already retrieved 15 boxes. so, the fbi was reportedly tipped off by someone who led them to execute the search warrant. attorney general merrick garland faces increasing pressure to say something publicly about why the fbi conducted the search. the calls are not just coming from outside the justice department. cnn has learned some officials within the doj believe the department should provide a public statement. they argue internally the silence is harmful to the department and the public s interest. that s in part because donald trump and his allies have filled the void with angry speculative rhetoric. to that point, the ex-president puts out baseless accusations today that the fbi, quote, planted incriminating material before searching his residence, trying to cast this as some sort of conspiracy against him. trump or his team have a copy of the search warrant. normally it does list the items to be seized
he d come in the ordinary course of travel that former presidents undertake and he would show up at the courthouse. depending on whether it s a felony or misdemeanor, if he would be fingerprinted and photographed. but he would enter the courthouse, do whatever the court asked of him, whether it s entering a plea of not guilty or making an initial appearance. then he d be on his way. would someone asked to testify at a grand jury who refused to do so, would a district attorney s office give heads up to his attorney or to him in some way that an arrest were imminent? you know, in the ordinary course, i m not sure that would be the case depending on what they felt about the potential dependent, whether there was a
