And people said they did have a hail of a time last night for when this came down last night for about 45 minutes. This is about a foot and a half deep. And i weigh about 170 pounds. And this is packed down tight. And this is in the this is peasized hail just come practiced. What a mess out here. And the weather service, they said for 45 minutes, this storm stalled out and moved slow over the west in this area. And dumped up to 1. 54 inches of rain within 45 minutes just in this area right here. And as you can see this is the low area in the parking lot with the dealership with the cars back here and they were water. Some car alarm have been going off because water got in and setting off the electrical system. This pile is almost two feet tall. By 3 00 is should be around 82. So well get a lot of the melting off this afternoon. You had some heavy hail. And it wasnt large. So hope
The suspect. Reverse 911 calls went out to warn people of this. Police found a gun outside this car. It is a ford car. The ford was stolen from 35th and gray in wheatridge. Were working on getting more information and as soon the rain and hail hit Denver Boulder and metro area hard along the 25 corridor last night and after the storm moved out, standing water stuck around on the highways and streets. This is the intersection or a section of 36 near federal, totally flooded. A viewer name start sent us video of the roads around parker and said cars are dying here. Some storm in the state were Strong Enough to trigger some flash flood warnings. The good news, though today we great, marty, because i would love to get some sleep tonight. Day. Well be in the upper 70s by 12 00 and low 80s for the high. And we have a chance for some thunderstorms and a threat for heavy rain of t and well be in upper 60s by 9 00. So denver today 82, fort collins 82 and low to mid80s in southeastern, colorado. Warmer tomorrow. Very wet in a lot of locations. And were still trying to dry out on some of the freeways and side streets. You see i25 and bellview. This is not slowing down the drive on i25. But some areas that do have standing water. I did see some pooling by some of the freeways this morning. And we have a good looking drive for the most part. This section of evans is closed down because of a big water sinkhole that will not be repaired till later on today. And denver says you can use santa fe and back to evans and head west again to the eastbound side of evans getting over to santa fe. And the north side of town looks nice. Car involved is laying on its side. The backups are squeezing down only into the right lane and because of that the delays are going to grow very quickly. Were up to a quarter mile of backups right now. I do have an alternate planned out for you. As youre headed northbound along i25 take the exit to 392 head east for a half mile then you can take northbound south county road 25. Once you get to colorado 5 then take westbound prospect back onto i25 but just to show this crash one more time. This is going to be a huge impact, the darkness and flashing lights of course slows everybody down. The combination is going to be really tough on the early side of the morning commute. Thats a tough spot to drive even on a good day. For us we have at least good visibility up in that part of the state fog.
