heard coming from bannon and breitbart and even president trump over the last year and a half about taking on the establishment, the political class, the media class, a lot of those things originated in 2014, during that period of time where steve went after the republican leadership, eric cantor as well as speaker john boehner who would end up resigning from the speakership that fall, to even into that election cycle where he took on mitch mcconnell in kentucky, getting behind matt bevin, took on sitting incumbent senators in states like kansas, tennessee, louisiana and mississippi. it was almost like a dress rehearsal for what we would see later with steve and donald trump. i think the political activist steve bannon, not the media platform runner, not the person trying to create a platform that would control the political conversation in d.c. and capitol hill, but the activist side really came out in that 2014 cycle. breitbart really supported donald trump. there is an argument to
we have estimated up to 470,000 jobs in united states by our investment in what we are doing. and it s a special thing. we have policies about making our transportation system different. teslas are a big hit in norway. we. we do that, too. thank you, everybody. thank you very much. thank you very much. thank you very much, everybody. donald trump not taking any questions from reporters. a short chat for us to watch. a longer chat between the prime minister and the president, both complimenting each other. just a moment ago the prime minister of norway complimenting us and the president of the united states on our military support, saying we are their closest ally within nato. meanwhile, arizona senator jeff flake sounded confident
the democrats, by ben cardin on the sfwintelligence committee saying donald trump is just not taking the threat of russian interference seriously. they laid out a number of ways that he could take it seriously. what is the reaction from republicans on the hill, no republicans were part of this report. reporter: i think that for the most part, republicans don t necessarily want to touch this because it is so radioactive as regards the president of the united states, who is clearly hypersensitive to this. any republican that were to sign on to something like this is potentially putting themselves in the crosshairs and this clearly was an effort by one side, not the other. one thing, one trend i do think that is kind of winding its way through all of what we have been talking about today and all the stories we have been covering here is you have to remember when these investigations started in the house and senate intelligence committees, there was very real bipartisan concern about the
they like the truth here. reporter: there are some americans who think that it s not right for russians to come to america, have their babies and have the babies become american. i understand them. but i m not going to take something from america. if i can spend my money, why not? there s no indication that president trump or the trump organization is directly benefiting from this birth tourism. we called the white house and the trump organization to ask them a few questions. we have not heard back. what does immigration say when women come in, saying i m pregnant and intend to have the baby here? welcome. they say welcome? welcome. that s the law. the only way you can get in trouble, you can get arrested if you lie. if you lie and say you are not pregnant, have the baby here, you are in trouble. you tell the truth, you re okay. cynthia mcfadden, thank you very much. great to see you. next, the white house tackles prison reform. it s one more project jared kushner i
seen this before. i am not convinced it goes anywhere beyond this listening session, and as we know after a year, almost nearly a year of president trump, the idea that what he hears what he listens to, the president, that this listening session will be retained and then acted upon is something completely different. do you think that s a correct assessment of donald trump s ability or desire to retain something like this? you know, trump has no interest in the minutia of any policy. we know this. saw it during the health care debate. he got mildly engaged on tax reform but didn t steep himself in the details of that, and i think the extent of his interest in prison is undermined the mueller report so he doesn t end up in prison himself. not something with a deep intuitivety to this. what abnout kushner?
