Three Tigers Move on to Quarterfinals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. X women on the Clemson track and field team earned their spot in the NCAA quarterfinals on the second day of competition at NCAA East Region Prelims. ACC Champion Trishauna Hemmings, Kiara Grant and XXX will participate on Saturday for the opportunity to go to Eugene, Ore. for NCAA National Championships. Hemmings kicked off the action for the Tigers, securing her spot in the quarterfinals by winning her heat with a time of 13.23 in the 100 meter hurdles. Grant finished the 100 meter dash in 11.29 second, just a hundredth of a second behind her personal best. That time was good for second in her heat and saw her through to the quarterfinals.   On Friday, Clemson will have 13 entrees in men's quarterfinals events, including an entree in both the 4100 meter and 4x400 meter relays. Women Finish 5th, Men Finish 6th as Several Tigers Claim Individual Championships

DURHAM, N.C. The 2022 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded on Saturday, with the Clemson men finishing in sixth place and the women finishing fifth. The day saw Clemson claim ACC Championships in two events, s well as set numerous All-ACC recognitions. The Tigers set numerous personal bests and had four top-10 marks on Saturday alone.  “ELLIOTT QUOTE”  HIGHLIGHTS Trishauna Hemmings took home the ACC Championship in the 100 meter hurdles, running a season best 13.00 to take the crown. The day concluded with fireworks, as the men’s 4x400 meter relay team of Wanya McCoy, Tarees Rhoden, Cameron Rose and Aman Thornton set the facility record en route to the ACC Championship. The mark of 3:05.15 was best in the conference, earning Clemson the gold, as the Tigers won the event in both indoor and outdoor season this year. Giano Roberts earned first-team All-ACC honors in the 110 meter hurdles, and also moved up t No. 3 on Clemson’s all-time list with his time of 13.4

Tigers Start Strong at ACC Championships

DURHAM, N.C.  The opening day of the 2022 championships proved promising for the Clemson track and field program, as several Tigers earned spots in the finals for their respective events. Most notably, three Tigers will compete in the 200 meter dash championship on Saturday, and Jevon Williams secured the fastest time in the 400 meter hurdles, putting him in a tie for tenth on Clemson's all-time top-10 list for the event. HIGHLIGHTS Three Tigers qualified for the 200 meter dash finals. Wanya McCoy set a personal best 20.64 and finished second in prelims. Guinove Joanus's 20.84 time sent him through to finals while Cameron Rose followed just behind with 20.85. Ockera Myrie shined brightest with the pressure earn, setting a season-best 23.10 in the 200 meter dash to finish third in prelims and advance to the finals. the men's 400 meter hurdles were a success for the Tigers, as both Jevon Williams and Darryl Burton performed well enough to advance to finals.
