Behalf of the law school in entire university, i am pleased to welcome you here today for the first lecture in a new series hosted by the college of law and title the new lincoln lectures, what lincoln means in the 21st century. During this series, we will come over the next few years, bring in 10 or so ideologically Diverse National thought leaders to reflect openly on lincolns legacy and his continuing relevance 150 years after his passing. I know all of us are eager to lecture, our inaugural bobbled word, but i want to take a few minutes to say little bit more about the lecture series itself. Some ask me why the law school has decided to focus on lincoln. Lincoln is probably americas lawyer. Of course, lincoln played many roles, president , legislator, military strategist, newspaper owner, etc. At at his core, he was lawyer, a constitutional lawyer, who, to our collective good
Lets go to rosemary and talk more about the sunrise. Its nice out there. We have subtle changes. We have a little fog so well look at the visibility issues in some areas. Lets start with a live look. Isnt that another gorgeous one . Looking to the east, sun rose 20 minutes ago and you can see some of that lowlying fog moving through. Its not going to last for long. Well have mostly sunny skies today but in the meanwhile we do have visibility down especially for parts of the east bay. In the north bay youre in great shape if youre stepping out early. As we shift into the east bay, just a little, visibility in concord eight miles. No problem there. But livermore reporting visibility to about a half mile. It will be with us for the next halfhour or so, then it clears, and youll have mostly sunny skies for the morning and afternoon. 38 degrees in napa.
