Dozens of costumed pets and kids paraded down Washington Avenue in Detroit Lakes as part of the 86th Northwest Water Carnival on July 16. Dogs also showed-off their skills to junior royalty judges at the subsequent pet show in City Park.
On Sunday, July 17, the final day of the 86th Northwest Water Carnival, big crowds showed up for the annual Parade of the Northwest and a grand finale show by Bald Eagle Water Ski Shows out of Centerville, Minn. The water carnival's co-admirals said attendance was very high for most events during its 10-day run, which began July 8.
Fireballs, smoke and costume changes all featured prominently during Friday night's Bash on the Beach in Detroit Lakes as Hairball performed the classics and thrilled the outdoor, sold-out crowd as part of the 86th Northwest Water Carnival on July 15.
