HAMLER â The Patrick Henry Local Schools Board of Education Monday approved personnel matters.
The board approved a three-year contract with cafeteria supervisor Katie Yarnell. Brian Keith and Amie Whitman were approved as archery co-assistants for the 2020-21 school year.
The board also approved the updated substitute lists for teachers and education aides from the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center and the Patrick Henry substitute list for 2020-21.
The board also approved:
â¢âThen and nowâ payments to Nichols Paper & Supply Co. for $930.51 and Ohio Bureau of Workersâ Compensation for $18,621.
â¢A revised student activity purpose and budget statement for volleyball for fiscal year 2021.
AYERSVILLE â Ayersville Superintendent Don Diglia gave good news with the Ayersville Local Board of Education during its meeting Monday, sharing that Ayersville Local Schools has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council, through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certified building, due to its green construction and operation.
In addition, the board accepted the resignation of a school board member, approved a contract with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center to help with its superintendent search and approved putting its natatorium levy on the ballot (see related stories, page A1 and above).
AYERSVILLE â The Ayersville Local Board of Education approved a resolution declaring it necessary to renew a 1.6-mill, five-year levy for the districtâs indoor natatorium, and okayed a pair of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with the Ayersville Education Association concerning employee attendance and sick days during the COVID-19 pandemic, during its regular meeting Monday evening.
The board also accepted the resignation of board member David Kern, who was elected in November to serve as a Defiance County commissioner, approved an agreement with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center (NwOESC) to lead a search for the districtâs next superintendent (see related story, page A1), and learned the district earned a LEED silver certification for the construction/renovation of its school building and its high efficiency (see related story below).
