Where were talking about the traffic, at least we have the hold out toward 80. And also chain controls for portions of the us highway 50. This is the radar, a very busy radar all day long, covering the sierra with moderate to heavy snowfall. These are all of the storm reports as you can see, picked out over the past day or so. Out toward this was from this morning, in fact, right around truckee reporting about 3. 5in, about a foot right around tahoe city. That was earlier today at 730 this morning, were showing you the snowfall forecast, because we do put this into motion. Look at this. This is through saturday morning, 7 00. Might back off a little bit, but its a short time deal because look what happens. It actually continues and ramps up in activity throughout the afternoon hours. And then on sunday of course, the blizzard warnings set to expire sunday morning 10 a. M. But we are expecting the snowfall to continue. And then finally into monday. And on. No its going to be snowing going straight through. Yeah. All this moisture is getting getting stuck. Its just like a dam and the moisture gets hits, hits the side of the Sierra Nevada. And it just stacking up there. Even this system thats just moving through the bay area now and theyre going to its going to stay until it gets all the moisture ringed out of it by the orographic component of the lift. And, and so its just going to ive talked to folks up there in the last ten minutes and its, its starting to snow. And theyve already had inches of snow measured. But as this system which went through here this afternoon, you probably youre looking at the rain totals now. But the system that kind of moved through here is going to get stuck up on that. West slope. Its going to create winds that are up over 80 miles an hour. Easy and blizzard conditions for sure here in the next few hours up there. So yeah, its a its a strong storm with the wind. So the projections looking at anywhere from 5 to 10in all the way down to about colfax, as we talked here about the sierra snow lab, as you mentioned, 19in reported there since earlier this morning in a 24 hour period. And then areas in the 8700ft reporting near tahoe city at the summit last night 145 mile per hour wind gusts. So very strong winds, very hazardous and dangerous conditions right now. South lake tahoe reporting a wind gust to 39 and a gap about 5000ft. Reporting a wind gust to 41. The advise is for a blizzard warning will continue until sunday morning, expected to expire right around 10 a. M. The avalanche warning for the greater lake tahoe area goes until tomorrow morning. That may be extended, and as weve been talking about for a few days now, above 5000ft could see ten feet, maybe even 12.
