Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal s aide, Bibhav Kumar, was arrested for allegedly assaulting AAP MP Swati Maliwal. Currently under a five-day judicial custody, Kumar is being taken to Mumbai to retrieve data from his formatted iPhone. The police stated that Kumar had formatted his phone before transferring the data elsewhere. His phone was seized but found to be wiped clean.
Delhi Police have set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal's assault allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's close aide Bibhav Kumar.
The SIT is headed by Anjitha Chepyala, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for North Delhi and it will be looking into Maliwal's claims that she was assaulted at Kejriwal's residence on May 13.
The team will report their findings to senior officials after a thorough investigation.
