Subscriber only A Coast man is one step closer to going to jail after he was sentenced for being a drunken pest at a popular Noosa Heads pizza bar. Peter James Cherry, 46, pleaded guilty in Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday to committing a public nuisance within a licenced premise and obstructing police. The court heard Cherry while on a drunken night out entered Somedays Pizza on Sunshine Beach Rd at Noosa Heads as staff were closing the restaurant. A 24-year-old was close to getting away with his weed stash before police spotted it on their walk to the car.
Jotham Levy was fined in Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday for possessing and producing dangerous drugs.
Police prosecutor Alison Johnstone said police went to Levyâs home for an unrelated reason and were leaving when they found a marijuana plant.
âThey identified a cannabis plant growing in a pot in the backyard, 10m from where the police vehicle was parked,â she said.
He let himself into the living area through an unlocked glass door. The defendant walked through the victim s house, past the master bedroom where the adult female slept, past the second bedroom, the bathroom and along the length of an internal corridor, Sgt Stephens said. Godsall then entered the third bedroom where the 13-year-old girl was in bed. The victim child was startled and verbally challenged the defendant, Sgt Stephens said. Godsall fled the home via the living room door before the girl woke her mother who confronted him and called police. Godsall later told police he was very drunk at the time and wanted to look at the victim s Christmas tree in the living room.
