‘A duly legitimised Constitutional prescription has been judicially undone,’ the vice president said on the opening day of the Winter Session of Parliament.
Dhankhar said that by scrapping the National Judicial Appointment Commission, which was established by an Act of parliament, the top court severely compromised parliamentary sovereignty.
"The basic fault with the present collegium system is that the judges are recommending those colleagues whom they know. Obviously, they would not recommend a judge they do not know," the law minister said.
