The frozen inheritance tax (IHT) threshold is a greater problem for advisers’ clients than the frozen pensions lifetime allowance (LTA).
Octopus Investments surveyed advisers who said nearly twice the number of their clients (31%) will be effected by IHT compared to the LTA (17%).
Both IHT and LTA have been frozen until April 2026 with 64% of advisers saying affected clients are aware of the IHT freeze.
But only 11% of their clients fully understand how the change might effect them.
A third of financial advisers believe affected clients are fully unaware of the changes.
