The state government has ordered districts to start planning forward, asking them to measure their capability. The health department is now going full tilt on Covid vaccination in the state with confidence as Gujarat got an additional 4.42 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine on January 20, taking the total stock so far to 9.76 lakh doses, according to Ahmedabad Mirror.

The list was generated on January 12 at the district-level where they might not have an idea of the ground reality of who would get vaccinated and who won’t. An official told the Indian Express, “This should have been decentralised to the Primary Health Centre level so that medical officers could take immediate and dynamic decisions on the same.”
