Right now. You can see the heaviest rain is only hitting parts of the region right now. But we do expect more to fall overnight, and into tomorrow. Nbc 10s drew smith will show us how the wet conditions are affecting peoples plans at the shore. But lets begin with first alert meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. Very different scenes across the area. Still looking for possible flooding . Right. Parts of the area have already gotten several inches of rain. You can see how chaotic it is, kind of a weird radar map. And ill tell you, well show you just why. Now, one of the places that got hit hard was in berks county, near reading. One inch of rain in just 15 minutes. And so a Flash Flood Warning in effect there until 1 30 in the morning. Thats in berks county. Now, on the other end of our area, southwestern delaware and us sussex county, and parts of delaware beaches getting blasted with heavy rain. If you watch the radar loop you see the deeper greens, and then the yellows oranges starting in philadelphia andhe heaviest ban southern delaware and parts of the jersey shore, thats where weve been getting flooding reports especially over cape may county. Right now there are five or six reports coming in. The loop looks like it is having an issue so well get back to that in a moment. Here is a look at the watchings and warnings. The green is a Flash Flood Watch that is in place through 2 00. We have this in place for the area from philadelphia pretty much south. To stay in bed. We have issued a first alert because of the rain and flooding. This is a live picture of beach avenue in cape may. The shore received the brunt of the storm overnight. Shore towns are dealing with quite a bit of flooding especially in those low lying areas. And we are tracking a system that will be with us through much of the day. Krystal klei has those details. We really lucked out with a dry wedge starting to move into our area. This has really cut those rain totals for some parts of south jersey, but the shore has not escaped the pounding. We see heavy rain for hours and hours now, more than 5 inches in some parts of our jersey shore line. And what were looking at now is the herriest bands fortunately are starting to get pushed offshore. But still a very steady rain that is continuing to fall and i think will for the next couple hours.
