Thats right. Especially as sxenkexpected sou jersey and southern delaware where the heaviest is moving through. If you watch the radar loop you see the deeper greens, and then the yellows oranges starting in philadelphia andhe heaviest ban southern delaware and parts of the jersey shore, thats where weve been getting flooding reports especially over cape may county. Right now there are five or six reports coming in. The loop looks like it is having an issue so well get back to that in a moment. Here is a look at the watchings and warnings. The green is a Flash Flood Watch that is in place through 2 00. We have this in place for the area from philadelphia pretty much south. And i really think that the issue with flash flooding mostly will be atlantic, cape may, cumberland and sussex. Let me see if i can get radar to pop up for you guys again. Ill try real quick to tap out of this. There we go. This shows you better what im looking at. Heaviest rain bands are over parts of the shore and into sussex county. The oranges, yellows and deep reds is the biggest concern right now. Because that is where the rain rates are about half an inch or faster and its been doing this for several hours. So when you have this problem, thats when you become concerned because if we zoom into cape may county, Atlantic County, this has been yellow and orange for the last several hours. So well seeing the flood and high tide concern. So well talk more about when the rain comes to a close coming up. And the shore is in for more of its fair say of rain and potential flooding this morning. This is a live look at beach avenue in cape may. You can see windy condition, search the roads are soaked. Sky force 10 was over the scene where a csx train passed through. Behind the tracks is a popular skate park. A neighbor explains kids are taking their lives in to their hands when they hang out there. It makes me sick because parents can tell their kids to stay srp away, but kids will dot they want to do. It only takes a second. You just have to stay away and kids have to realize how dangerous it is. This by the way is the third time in less than three months that a child has been injured by a train in this area. Were tracking rain plus a flood risk for our region. This is another live look down the shore beach avenue in cape may. Nobody out there at this hour. And my guess is it wont be the best beach day. Krystal klei will be back with the latest on the path of the storm, how long it will stirk around and when well see the sun again. And youre fired. Reince priebus out following a tweet from the president. Who is the new cheefr of staew and the last straw that may have prompted the firing, thats next. Were starting with a look at our radar. Back to that picture of a very green map. Now, notice that the light green and deep green over Lehigh Valley, berks county, down into the suburbs. This is just rain. But the heavy rain is wrapping right through southern delaware and along the jersey shore extending in to parts of south jersey. This is exactly what we were expecting to happen and where we were expecting the flood concerns to really hit. Interesting to note, we now have this little dry wedge ever air pushing through, that will kill off some of the rain over parts of philadelphia and ensouth jersey. Northern hoof still going to get hit. When you have the red colors, that is the heaviest rain moving through and it stretches from lewis beach up to cape may and that will be heading up to the northeast. So it will drive right along the jersey shore. So areas like wear town and Burlington County still looking at a very steady rain. And these are areas that have already reported more than 2 inches of rain. So anything can start leading to flash flooding. These green boxes all flood reports are reported in contain may and Atlantic County. A good spread here and this is where the bulk of the reports are likely to continue to come in as we go through the morning hours. Here is the neighborhood planner as we go into the afternoon. In the morning for philadelphia, things should start to thin out. I think by around 7 00, 8 00 a. M. And then we stay mostly cloudy about the mid70s for high temperatures later today. So we dont see much of a warm upin the suburbs right around 70 at 2 00, low and mid70s. Same deal in the lead high valley. Areas like delaware, though, and especially the shore will continue with the rain through the morning hours. Its in the afternoon that i think the showers will start to break apart for the jersey shore. Well talk more about the conditions of today and the better forecasts for your sunday coming up. As youve been telling us, parts of the shore, delaware beaches getting hit very hard with heavy rain this morning and that has led to flooding in some spots. Ted greenberg is live in margate Atlantic County to show us the conditions there. Very wet, ted. Reporter very wet no doubt about that. The rain is coming down and you can see what has happened, this is ventner avenue near washington avenue and you can see where im standing, i wont go any farther out into the street, this is the sidewalk. The water is all the way up to here on my boots. No doubt a bit deeper out in the street. Its going all the way across and you can he should up towards the door of some of those stores over there, and on this side, you can see here is the sidewalk, its coming all the way up into this wawa parking lot right into the driveway. It has been raining here for the past several hours, coming down very hard. Driving not easy just because the rain has been coming down so hard. Torrential rain at times. And a lot of the communities here at the jersey shore, the storm drains including in this area here in margate, they just cannot keep up with the amount of rain coming down so quickly. So tough going in some spots. And its not just here. Im seeing some videos and tweets and images that people are putting out there. Well have more coming up at 5 30 and also from cape may county, avalon, stone harbor, those communities dealing with flooding right now. Wildwoods, as well. And i saw an alert on my phone from vineland fire department, they said that already 5 inches of rain has fallen in the vineland area. Roads are flooded and will remain flooded. And they are asking people not to drive through the water. Some people as you can see are todaying that chance and driving through, but it can be very dangerous. The white house says President Trump will sign a bill containing tough new economic sanctions against russia, iran and north korea. The measure bars the president from adjusting penalties on russia unless congress agrees. Were tracking that heavy rain just as expected, we told you yesterday the heaviest bands would be a little farther south which meant southern delaware, jersey shore under the biggest threats and that is exactly what we are looking at. You see this is a thinned out light to deeper green over parts of the suburbs. Im not for getting you guys, but the good news is there are no flooding reports there and i dont think this will be a big concern takes continues to thin out. Its areas south that were really watching. Burlington county wraps through and down to Atlantic County, cape may and into sussex county. Those have the heaviest rain. The good news that we have a wedge of drier air that will force the moisture out here and its already starting to tap into parts of philadelphia county. So came camden, gloucester, salem and new castle counties which were at the highest let ever 1 to 2 inches and things start to flooding out are already drying out. That is good news. But that heaviest rain is already flooding areas in cape may and Atlantic County. We just saw Ted Greenberg and he is getting reports in Cumberland County of over 5 inches of rain. That red return is indicating 1 1 3 inch falling per hour. That is very heavy rain and its stating to pump to the northeast. Even areas farther to the north up to Burlington County, were still seeing that yellow and orange return. Pemberton to toms river. So these areas are getting pounded with rain this morning. And because its pain fabeen fa several hours, many areas are reporting 2 inches plus so flooding could start occurring. Pulling it out wider, notice im mostly focused eefr ca over cap Atlantic County got hit the hardest. So you need to remember if you are trying to drive early this morning, its hard to tell the depth on a roadway. So its not worth the risk. It only takes a foot to lift a car up. Here is a look at the hour by hour forecast. I dont think any of the computer models are doing a great job of handling this, but this model does all right showing off that the heaviest rain is right along the jersey shore, parts of Cumberland County and starting to thin around 10 00 a. M. But still a light rain or spotty shower is possible even up into parts of the Lehigh Valley and philadelphia through our morning hours. But things will start to thin here by the afternoon. This is at 3 30. I actually think we xoo still have some spot showers near the shore. But most of us will have dried out by the afternoon hours. Still mostly cloudy with the exception of the Lehigh Valley and berks county, and we will stay mostly cloudy through today. Tomorrow the sun will really break through. Here are our current temperatures. Were 70 in the Lehigh Valley, 69 in philadelphia. If we drop into the neighborhoods, most of us at 66. Parkside, 69 for graduate hospital. These numbers will not climb much as we get in to the afternoon hours. Forecast highs right around the mid to upper 70s through philadelphia. Same for the suburbs and Lehigh Valley. And same deal nuchblew jersey, shore and delaware. Rain this morning and only seventh through the afternohe have 70s through the afternoon. Well talk about sunday coming up.
