L&T to supply 28 steel bridges for bullet train project ANI | Updated: Jan 29, 2021 11:58 IST Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan 29 (ANI): The heavy civil infrastructure business of L&T Construction has secured a contract to supply 28 bridges for Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. The project involves two packages to procure, fabricate, assemble, paint and transport 28 steel truss superstructures with bearings to various sites that will cross over roads, rivers, railway lines and other structures. The project was secured through a consortium of L&T and IHI Infrastructure Systems of Japan, L&T said in a statement on Friday. The value of the contract is between Rs 1,000 crore to 2,500 crore. When completed, it will be India s first bullet train project.

Image Source: IANS News New Delhi, Jan 17 : A week after the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) carried out an aerial LiDAR survey of the 800 km Delhi-Varanasi High Speed rail corridor, the work on the survey for Delhi-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Nagpur are also slated to be launched soon as the tenders have been awarded, officials said. NHSRCL spokesperson Sushma Gaur told IANS: Tenders related to data collection and various other activities including LiDAR survey, required for the preparation of Detail Project Reports for Delhi-Varanasi, for which the first draft of the DPR has already been submitted.

Updated Dec 27, 2020 | 08:30 IST Maharashtra government assured the Centre that 80% of land acquisition work will be completed in the next four months itself.        Indian Railways ready for phase-wise launch of Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project (File photo)  |  Photo Credit: Twitter Ahmedabad: The Indian Railways will begin operations in a phased manner on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor owing to delayed land acquisition in Maharashtra, said Railway Board Chairman YK Yadav.  The work on the corridor ran into hurdles in Maharashtra owing to protests from farmer groups and the state government. However, no such delays were reported from neighbouring Gujarat. Yadav on Saturday said the Ministry of Railways is prepared to operationalise the corridor till Vapi in Gujarat if there is further delay.

Shiv Sena Led Thane Municipal Corporation Scraps NHSRCL s Land Acquisition Proposal For Bullet Train Project Source: Oneindia The Shivsena-led Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has dismissed a proposal for land acquisition put forward by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSCRL), reports Times of India. The NHSRCL requires a stretch of 3800 sq meter land for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project crossing through the Shil village that falls in the Diva administrative ward of the TMC. This length of land is a critical component of the high speed corridor and yet the civic body has reportedly dismissed the proposition for the third time without providing any valid reasons for the same. The TMC currently owns the land and NHSCRL has asked for the title holding to be shifted to their name, even agreeing to pay a compensation of Rs 6.9 crore as per the market value.
